Nutrition assistance to rural communities for immediate treatment of malnutrition. We will also improve local food production options and sources. We will treat children <5 years of age at emergency nutrition centers and pregnant and nursing mothers. We will also help establish a community food security action plan to improve future production.
Project goals:
1. Implement our "Sustain Circle Community Development" by providing training and employment for local individuals who will help provide services in their community.
2. Administer immediate nutrition therapy and commodities to reduce malnutrition primarily among children <5 years of age and mothers.
3. Provide nutrition education and lactation support for mothers of infants and children <5.
4. Identify and cultivate sustainable local food production improvements.
Implementation:
Our plan for implementing the program is to work out of small mobile clinics in the communities. These mobile sites would be more cost effective and provide a resource to meet the needs of the people on a periodic basis or for emergencies. Partner organizations will provide some of the monetary and other resources required to meet our goals.
